Computer Systems Analysts Job Description

The Computer Systems Analysts job function is to analyze science, engineering, business and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems. The Computer Systems Analysts usually analyzes user’s requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.

Tasks for the Computer Systems Analysts

  • The Computer Systems Analysts expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improves work flow.

  • The Computer Systems Analysts tests, maintains, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.

  • The Computer System Analysts develops documents and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.

  • The Computer System Analysts provides staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.

  • The Computer System Analysts reviews and analyzes computer printouts and performance indicators to locate code problems, and correct errors by correcting codes.

  • The Computer System Analysts confers with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs a computer program is to address.
