The Gaming Supervisor must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. The Gaming Supervisor must possess a good knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications. The Gaming Supervisor must have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. The Gaming Supervisor needs knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. The Gaming Supervisor needs knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions. The Gaming Supervisor must have knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
The Gaming Supervisor must have knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders. The Gaming Supervisor needs knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems. The Gaming Supervisor uses mathematics to solve problems as most of the situations are to do with counting money and balancing out the table receipts. Often the Gaming Supervisor needs to be able to train others who work the table on how to proceed. The Gaming Supervisor works with the clients on a constant basis so they need to have good listening skills. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. The Gaming Supervisor needs to be looking for ways to help people and make their stay a pleasant one. The Gaming Supervisor monitors performances of themselves, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective actions.
The Gaming Supervisor needs to be aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do in any given situation. Then the Gaming Supervisor needs to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. The Gaming Supervisor works with many different people and groups so they find that many different situations may occur and they must be ready to deal with each one appropriately to the satisfaction of the customers. Customers are the main source of income for the casino therefore the needs of the customers must be met in order to keep them returning. This is the top priority of the Gaming Supervisor.
