Baker & McKenzie is seeking an associate who has 4 – 6 years of M&A experience in shared and asset deals, sales, and negotiation. The ideal candidate must be able to work in large teams and manage components of transactions by himself/herself. To accomplish this task, the candidate must have excellent verbal and oral communication skills. The individual must have M&A experience rather than capital markets, must be able to initiate the task independently, build a strong relationship with stakeholders, strong organizational ability and attention to detail, and the ability to deal with sensitive information in a professional manner.

Baker & McKenzie professional support lawyer must be able to assemble and maintain key precedent agreements and documents of the company, work closely with the company’s steering committee (SC) to identify key precedents, maintain a record of precedents and report on knowledge activities, help establish understanding within the company through proper communications, work closely with the business development (BD) staff, maintain strong working relationships with employees within the company. He/she must also be able to undertake legal and industry research as and when required, work closely with employees to monitor their needs and priorities, develop and prepare training materials as directed by the supervisor, organize seminars and training sessions, recommend guidelines and procedures on the use of functionality for the Group, maintain the company’s intranet page, maintain up-to-date knowledge of current developments and prepare summaries for internal distribution. The ideal candidate must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the law in relevant areas, to draft standard generic legal precedents, analyze situations and information, takes responsibility for tasks and projects, work with a team setting, excellent time and organizational skills, assists with urgent work other than normal working hours, ability to travel to meetings for the company if requested, meet project deadlines, have a law degree, license to practice law, and at least 2 years of working in the oil and gas area with transactional experience.
