The Senior Software Engineer designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software applications. Supports and/or installs software applications; participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software; performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others; may report directly to a project lead or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area; familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; and required to have intimate knowledge of ASP.net, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, Web Services, and Object Oriented design. The Senior Online Sales Executive is someone who has existing relationships with key clients and agencies while successfully prospecting, qualifying and generating new business. The candidate will develop and cultivate deep relationships at the SVP, VP and CMO levels of Fortune 500 companies and ad agencies and should have a strong client and agency rolodex. Areas of responsibility include working with major accounts and their advertising agencies, articulating Buy.com’s overall business objectives and value proposition to the advertising community, and closing strategic advertising deals on the Buy.com Web site. The Senior Online Sales Executive must have a college degree (MBA a plus); have worked in the NY market either now or in the past year; at least five years of recent online advertising sales experience in the New York market with proven record of personally delivering at least $5 million in business in recent years; recently handled major online advertising agencies and can show record of YOY growth while personally handling those agencies; must have examples and proof of direct client relationships with major online accounts; demonstrates an ability to get through to a CMO level and have high-level business discussions and provides specific examples; highly organized, uses specific systems and structure, demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects at one time; self motivated and task-driven. Does not need to have their hand held in order to take action each day; is not dependent on support staff but works well with them; highly persuasive and able to negotiate.
