Federal Emergency Management Ageny(FEMA) Job Description

Formed in April 1, 1979 by a Presidential Order, FEMA is an agency of United States Department of Homeland Security. FEMA’s main purpose is to coordinate the response in times of a disaster and seeks resources from the local and state authorities. FEMA responds to disasters by the request of the state governor declaring state of emergency. It also responds to any form of terrorist attacks, with only one exception, if the emergency or disaster occurs in a Federal property or asset.
