Ames is named after its founder Joseph Sweetman Ames, a longtime chairman of the NACA(National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics). Currently, Ames Research Center is a home to 2,300 research personnel with $600 million annual budget. NASA’s Ames is the home of NASA’s Advanced Supercomputer and research. Its mission is to contribute major observations and discoveries through space explorations.
