A US Federal Agency that is under the US Department of the Interior, the National Park Service is an agency that manages all national parks, monuments, and other conservations and historical properties. Legislated by the National Park Service Act, the congress was able to create this agency on August 25, 1916 to preserve and care for over 400 national parks.
A wide array of duties accompanies this position. As a Park Ranger it is your responsibility to enforce law, protect resources and visitors, country patrolling, deliver emergency services including search and rescue and medical response and other activities that is related to protecting the resource integrity and assures the visitors safety and security. He/she should be able to withstand strenuous physical activities as this position demands so.
National Park Service Park Ranger Annual Salary Range: $38,511.00 – $55,413.00
A Park Guide conducts various interpretative programs both formal and informal which includes orientation talks, conducted walks, historical and natural themed education programs, lecture, and presentations which maybe on or off site. As a Park Guide you must be able to endure the physical demands of this job which is standing and walking for long periods and in rough and rocky terrains.
National Park Service Park Guide Hourly Salary: $13.41
The Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist will be the one to support facility management for a small park unit. He/she will be responsible to implement a safety and training program. He/she will also be tasked to determine training needs, promotions, and other personnel actions.
National Park Service Supervisory Facility Annual Salary Range: $51,630.00 – $67,114.00
The High Voltage Electrician Supervisor manages electrical projects and develops cost estimates for the project. He/she will provide supervision and perform other related duties such as conducting training, recruiting and hiring, and also ensuring safety and security of the employees. He/she should also make sure that the environment at work will not be threatening to the employees but a healthy working environment.
National Park Service High Voltage Electrician Supervisor Hourly Salary Range: $31.09 – $36.28
As a Maintenance Worker you will be doing routine and complex maintenance works including trail maintenance, rehabilitation and construction of graded foot and horse trails. The maintenance worker also must withstand strenuous activity which includes long hikes in a steep, uneven, and mountainous terrain carrying working tools.
National Park Service Maintenance Worker Hourly Salary Range: $18.44 – $21.43
