NBTY Inc. Duties and Responsibilities
- INSPECTOR (SOFTGELS)
The Inspector (Softgels) verifies the quality/integrity of the product under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person. Also, he/she is responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) to assure the quality and quantity of product produced. The Inspector is responsible to visually inspect soft gels and remove unacceptable soft gels ins; operate polish and sizing machines; set scales with proper quantities; and comply with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.
- MECHANIC
The Mechanic is responsible to maintain, repair equipment and help develop solutions to mechanical problems. The successful candidate must be able to troubleshoot, assess and repair most manufacturing and facilitating issues without supervision; to operate machinery such as lathes, mills, drill presses and all power and hand tools; to interpret blueprints and schematics; to instruct lower grade mechanics. He/she must is expected to comply with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.
- LEAD BAR FORMING OPERATOR 2PM – 10:30PM
The Lead Bar Forming is responsible in setting up the production line from the start through the cooling tunnels; adjusting line speed and other operating parameters to ensure bars are within specification; managing the department in the absence of the supervisor and/or manager and designating job assignments; preparing documents for each work order and assist other associates in training. The candidate must be personally responsible for following safety rules, SOPs and cGMPs guideline.
- Manager – Quality Assurance
The Manager is responsible to represents the department at operations planning and scheduling meetings and advises on feasibility of testing timelines with respect to planning or production requirements; lead the Company’s effort to ensure compliance with all regulatory directives and any necessary corrective actions; develop, write, review and approve Standard Operating Procedures for activities within the department; ensure the implementation and documentation and assure that all relevant procedures remain current; measure, assess and follows-up on team performance improvement plans through performance evaluations and reviews and identify and assure that all necessary training is provided and documented. The candidate must interface with suppliers to assure that all quality standards are met and develop and coordinate quality procedures for new and existing products and must at all times follow company policies and procedures.
- Plant Engineer
The Plant Engineer is responsible to plan, oversees, and coordinate activities concerned with development, design, construction, modification, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and facilities. This position requires extensive experience in maintenance functions in a manufacturing setting; also he must demonstrate excellent HVAC knowledge and strong analytical abilities and comprehensive computer skills especially in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) to develop alternative designs. He must establish standards and policies for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operating procedure, inspection, and maintenance of equipment, according to engineering principles and safety regulations.
