US Department of Commerce Job Description

The United States Department of Commerce is known as the Cabinet department of the United States government which is concerned in promoting economic growth of the state. It was originally created as the United States Department of Commerce and Labor on February 14, 1903. It was renamed to Department of Commerce on March 4, 1913 and the counterpart agencies and offices which specialized labor were transferred to the new Department of Labor. The company’s views are into the promotion of job creation and to improve living standards for all Americans by creating an infrastructure that promotes economic growth, technological competitiveness, and sustainable development for the state.

  • US Department of Commerce IT Manager Job Description

An IT Manager has the primary responsibility in assisting in planning and implementation of additions, innovations and major adjustments to the projects of the company. Look over the administration and maintenance of the company’s infrastructure, and directs more junior-grade innovators as necessary. Supervises the management of the company’s Wide Area Network and in the area of the company’s Training & Lab Maintenance wherein he or she directs the administration and maintenance of computer stations and software for the company’s training programs and the Learning Studio. The IT Manager provides additional support if necessary in the internal system department wherein he oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.

  • US Department of Commerce Management Analyst Job Description

The responsibility of the Management Analyst are in line on defining the nature and extent of the problem. During this time analysis of relevant data is important which may include yearly taxation, employment, or spending and involve in interviewing managers and employees while observing the operations. The analyst or consultant also develops solutions to the problem which includes insights into the problem that are often gained by building and solving mathematical models. The Management Analyst also decides on the course of action depending on the consultants report in their findings and recommendations to the client.

  • US Department of Commerce Patent Examiner Job Description

The Patent Examiners review evident applications to determine whether the claimed design should be granted patent. The work of a patent examiner usually includes searching patents and scientific literature databases for prior projects. The Management Analysts also examines patent applications essentially by studying whether the claimed project meets the standard requirements such as originality, creativity and freshness of the project. As a Patent Examiner they have also vital parts to the conceptualizing process, he or she review the patent application for compliance, compare it to other similar patents and work with an applicant to bring their idea into compliance which needs technical knowledge, creativity, organizational skills and an analytical mind to excel in this field of work.
