The Meat Trimmer uses hand tools to perform routine cutting and trimming of meat, poultry, and fish.

Duties

The Meat Trimmer uses knives, cleavers, meat saws, band saws, or other equipment to perform meat cutting and trimming. The Meat Trimmer cleans trims, slices, and sections carcasses for future processing. The Meat Trimmer cuts and trims meat to prepare for packing. The Meat Trimmer removes parts, such as skin, feathers, scales or bones, from carcass.  The Meat Trimmer inspects meat products for defects, bruises or blemishes and removes them along with any excess fat. The Meat Trimmer produces hamburger meat and meat trimmings. The Meat Trimmer processes primal parts into cuts that are ready for retail use.  The Meat Trimmer obtains and distributes specified meat or carcass. The Meat Trimmer separates meats and byproducts into specified containers and seal containers.  The Meat Trimmer weighs meats and tags containers for weight and contents.
