Duties of an Airline Service Agent

Being a Service Agent of an Airline is similar to most types of customer service related jobs, your job is to meet the demands of your passengers in the most efficient way possible, you are also in-charge of keeping passengers calm in case of an emergency.

Work Condition of an Airline Service Agent

Airline Service Agents are often assigned in different offices, you can be assigned in the airport or in the Airline’s Call Centre. Having these job, either being in the field or in the office has got its ups and downs, although it’s more fun to work on the field as an Airline Service Agent rather than in a Call Centre, some people may want to work in a Centre and take calls, it’s really up to the person who wants the job. Either way, both fields require very good people skills.

Educational Requirements of an Airline Service Agent

Being an Airline Service Agent, having a degree in college isn’t a must, although most companies needs a person with experience working as a Server Agent, some companies provide you with paid training. And even only having a High School Diploma is enough. Being an Airline Service Agent, you need to have very good communication skills both in writing and speaking for you will be talking to customers all the time.

Occupation and Progress of an Airline Service Agent

An Airline Service Agent can be a full-time job for most people who can smile whatever the situation is; this job requires a lot of patience and very good communication. Once you are hired as an Airline Service Agent you will be spending a few hundred hours in a classroom polishing your people skills, and mastering the company’s computer software. Learn about your company’s policies, after you’re done with your classroom training, you will work side by side with a seasoned Agent. In time you can polish better your people skills and you may advance to managerial position some day.
