McDonald’s Corporation is the world’s largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurants, serving more than 58 million customers daily. A McDonald’s restaurant is operated by a franchisee, an affiliate, or the corporation itself. Being a McDonald’s employee can be opening doors for a variety of opportunities. They offer trainings and opportunities that suit your ambition. Many of McDonald’s managers and franchisees started out as crew members. Because of this, you may want to consider being part of McDonald’s Crew.

What is McDonald’s Crew?

McDonald’s Crew is a member of a restaurant team whose main responsibilities are customer service, food preparation and cleanliness and hygiene. They are the employees who offer great customer service.

Duties of a McDonald’s Crew

McDonalds Crew works to uphold the aims and brand of McDonalds. Crew members are divided into Kitchen Crew, Counter Crew, and Maintenance Crew.

The Kitchen Crew works to provide finest quality food to customers to achieve 100% customer satisfaction. In food preparation and cooking the wide variety of food, it involves using a broad range of equipment and tools. McDonald’s needs to produce orders to a consistently high standard of service and understands that quality control is vital.

The Counter Crew works to serve the customer by being friendly and efficient in offering a pleasant experience to them. This crew has the responsibility for a good customer service. It is important that a Counter Crew must possess good customer service skills. They are expected to provide customers with a quick and accurate service and to show sensitivity to their individual needs, both from behind the till as well as in the dining areas.

Maintenance Crew works consistently to maintain high standards of cleanliness. They make the restaurant sparkle both in and out of the dining room and where the food is prepared. They undergo thorough training to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Maintenance crew learns how to use a variety of cleaning utensils and chemical cleaning products along with the correct protective equipment.

Work Condition of a McDonalds Crew

McDonalds Crew often works in the restaurant for long hours. They spend their time cooking, cleaning, and serving customers. But in some cases they go outdoors if services require delivering food. They must have a high energy and quick to response to customer’s request.

Educational Requirements of a McDonalds Crew

There are no educational requirements to be a McDonalds Crew. As long as the applicant knows how to read and write, can follow instructions, and has the willingness to work, he/she can be a candidate for the job. An applicant must be able to show that she/he has the ability to handle difficult situations and the skill to fulfill the required position during interviews. At McDonalds, they apply a company minimum age policy of 14 years. They also follow the laws of employment of children depending on the country or state.

Occupation and Progress of a McDonald’s Crew

McDonald’s Crew members are working around the restaurant. Crew members are working in contract basis at McDonald’s. As a McDonald’s Crew, you can progress in this job through years of experience. You can be promoted to be an apprentice, crew trainer, shift running floor manager, assistant and lastly to be a business manager.
